Handbook on Gender Dimensions of Criminal Justice Responses to Terrorism

This Handbook provides emphasizes the importance of integrating a gender perspective into criminal justice responses to terrorism and advocates for gender mainstreaming in counter-terrorism and P/CVE efforts. It highlights the gendered impacts of terrorism, including sexual and gender-based violence, and discusses the active roles some women play in terrorist groups. The handbook provides legal and policy recommendations to address gender-specific challenges in terrorism-related cases, offering best practices for criminal justice, investigation, prosecution, and detention.
