Building on prior workshops, this COE-DAT report expands on the role of gender in counterterrorism, focusing on narratives, child recruitment, and women’s empowerment within PCVE efforts. It explores the importance of engaging women’s organizations and civil society in addressing violent extremism, using case studies from Turkey and Afghanistan as examples. The report highlights the unique contributions of women in military advisory roles and emphasizes the need to empower women as key actors in CT/PCVE strategies.
